Liberty Humane Society needs your help.
$112918 raised! $37082 to go!
We're so close to meeting our goal of $150,000 to renovate and rebuild the Liberty Humane Society animal shelter. Help us cross the finish line!
The Liberty Humane Society animal shelter was originally built in an old, run-down garage, with cinder-block walls that was never meant to be permanent. LHS serves a community of more than half a million people in Hudson County, New Jersey. As they've expanded efforts to rescue more animals and continue giving pets a second chance, the small space has become overcrowded and unwelcoming to visitors hoping to take home a furry friend.
GreaterGood.org's Rescue Rebuild program has stepped in to reimagine the shelter from the ground up. Your donation will help install comfortable new adoption suites, a training room for dogs, a welcoming lobby, and outdoor space for animals to run and play!
With your help, we can change the lives of pets like Willow (pictured right). The Liberty Humane Society rescued Willow after she was abandoned in an alleyway in Jersey City.
Willow lives in a small kennel while she waits for a forever home. For big dogs like Willow, these small kennels are uncomfortable and frightening—the loud and unfamiliar noise of the shelter makes them bark. This means Willow looks scary to some people, and she's less likely to be adopted. But you can help this playful girl find her forever home!
Liberty Humane Society wants to keep rescuing animals and doing their good work, but they need your support. Rescue Rebuild's renovation will install state-of-the-art enclosures that will last forever. These cozy adoption suites reduce stress, so Willow and the other dogs will be comfortable and adopters will see their friendly personalities!
You can help Rescue Rebuild transform the Liberty Humane Society and the lives of other animals like Willow. Without you, we can’t make this project a reality. Donate today!
