Help keep Project Summer Lifeline running!
The city of Faridabad is large, with many stray animals in the streets and lots of wildlife in nearby forestland. Summers are very dry and very hot, with most days over 100 degrees. Animals die in the streets from heat stroke and lack of drinking water, or from drinking contaminated water in canals and sewers.
Greater Good Charities works with People for Animals Trust Faridabad to provide water for dehydrated and dying animals living on the streets. In response, Project Summer Lifeline was launched. The team placed durable water tubs around the city and dug artificial ponds made of bentonite clay to look and feel more natural to wildlife nearby. Every other day, staff and volunteers drive a truck carrying 5,000 liters of fresh drinking water through city streets and to the ponds. At each station they clean, fill with fresh water, and check on the welfare of the animals. Water tubs in the city provide life-saving hydration for dogs, goats, cows, and other street animals; the ponds are a haven for deer, tigers, monkeys, many species of birds, and countless other wildlife.
You can help this compassionate project continue and expand to save more lives, our need for clean water is essential and eternal. Every dollar donated helps ensure no animal dies of thirst or contaminated water. Give today!
