Thank you for participating in this year's National Feed a Rescue Pet Week! Together we reached our goal to deliver 2.4 million meals and 150,000 pounds of critical supplies to shelters impacted by the coronavirus!
We've reached our goal! Thank you!
Thousands of shelters and rescues around the country are struggling financially due to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Many are operating at maximum capacity and are struggling to stay afloat. Without donated food and supplies, they may be forced to close their doors on pets in desperate need of their help.
That's where GreaterGood.org's Rescue Bank program comes in. Rescue Bank is a crucial supply service relied upon by shelters and rescues around the country and having provided 400 million meals to shelter pets to date, we aren’t planning on stopping. We've continued to dispense emergency food and supplies to struggling shelters and rescues since the pandemic began, helping pets like Alice here fight for the future she deserves. For this year's National Feed a Rescue Pet Week, we provided 2.4 million meals and 150,000 pounds of critical supplies such as bowls, leashes, crates, masks, and more.
When Alice's owner noticed something wrong with the pup's leg, but didn't have the funds or resources to cover vet care, she brought her to the shelter for euthanasia. Shelter staff saw so much potential in Alice that they took her in. X-rays revealed a broken right tibia, and Alice was put in a cast to heal. This happy pup is doing well now and playing as much as she can until she finds a forever home. With the help from GreaterGood.org's Rescue Bank program, Houston Humane Society is able to budget their money for special needs animals like Alice and feed the pets in their shelter without a worry.
Even though the holiday is over, will you help provide hope to rescue pets like Alice? More animals means more hungry bellies. If you can, keep the celebration of National Feed a Rescue Pet Week going by making a gift. Just $25 provides 400 meals and 25 pounds of supplies—donate now and help us make a difference!
Stay tuned for next year's National Feed a Rescue Pet Week in July 2021!

I do this every time they have it. I raised 4 Yorkies, and when the last one died (at 14) I decided to rescue. I really love both of my rescues. Baby lived for 14 years and now my present half Yorkie is a perfect and a joy..
