Help survivors of the puppy mill industry live out happy and healthy lives.
The parents of puppies sold in pet stores and online live their entire lives in commercial dog breeding facilities (puppy mills) producing puppies. The cruel reality of the commercial dog breeding industry is that most of these dogs live in small cages, receive minimal veterinary care, poor food, and no human interaction. When they are no longer needed or wanted to produce puppies, they are discarded.
Greatergood.org partners with National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) to save dogs from the commercial dog breeding industry across the Midwest. There are more than 8,500 discarded dogs from the commercial dog breeding industry across the Midwest. In their Colorado facility, up to 100 dogs at a time receive the quality food, care, and socialization they so desperately need to prepare for life outside the cage. When they are ready for adoption, NMDR finds them forever homes, where they continue to learn the joys of life as a family pet.
You can help. Just $15.00 helps provide basic needs like food and care for a dog, bringing it one step closer to health and their forever home.
National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) is a Colorado Springs based 501(c)(3) organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes retired commercial breeding dogs from puppy mills. NMDR relies on hundreds of volunteers to care for the dogs, from the moment they are surrendered to the time they are adopted and beyond. They also depend on the kindness of the public in the form of donations. The National Mill Dog Rescue mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
