This is a neat product. It's easy to get on and off and strong enough to hold the animal. I was a little doubtful about the hook and loop catches but they did well. However, I did add a strap to run around the back end of the cat, under the tail, as my cat soon managed to walk out of the harness backwards. I don't think I wrapped the harness snugly enough around his body. But as he is very willful with a big brain and around 15 lbs of pure muscle his managing to get out didn't surprise me. Although, It did take him a few minutes to do this. Other than that, the harness worked well. My other cats tried to do the same thing but didn't manage to get out of the harness at all.
The harness is great! But this site sent a USED one. It had orange fur on it and in the Velcro. My cats are black or black/gray stripped. Much cleaning necessary to remove other cat's scent and fur. Timid cats needed a lot of patience. Progress is being made daily. All the cats enjoy getting out in the yard.
What a pleasant surprise. Absolutely the best product I've bought in a really long time. My scaredy cat that runs and hides when the door opens now wants to go outside all the time.
I've tried to put other harnesses on him and the fight wasn't worth it. After the first time with the holster he runs to the door when I pick it up and he patiently stands there (with his tail excitedly shaking) until I put it on. Maybe one day he will get further than 20 feet from the house and not panic when he hears a car or a neighborhood dog bark.
