Royal Handiworks has been a source of gorgeously handmade items for over 15 years, proudly supporting nearly 400 artisans in Thaiba, Lalitpur Nepal. Many of the artisans have been using their skills since childhood and early adulthood, learning from family members and others within the community to create these intricately made items. Fabric scraps are recycled or transformed into other Royal Handicraft items, like the patchwork bags and jackets. Economical and environmentally friendly!
By supporting Royal Handiworks, you are providing opportunities for the artisans and their families -- enabling them to pay for food, clothing, a good education, and other basic expenses. A powerful impact with every purchase.
I love this graceful tunic! The viscose is very soft, smooth, and luxurious with a lovely weight and drape, and I always feel good wearing it. There's enough stretch to the fabric that you can't put anything heavy in the pockets, but they are a reasonable size and not those silly mini-pockets that so many garments have these days. It's long enough for me to wear comfortably with leggings, and even though I always wear a black camisole underneath just in case, there's enough overlap to the wrap of the tunic that I never feel like it's going to come open when I move and expose anything it shouldn't, which is another plus. I just wish I could find more items on this site made from the same fabric content, or the same tunic style and fabric in other colors.
